Utilization of cellulose and starch fermentation broth
Abe (acetone butanol ethanol) fermentation broth is obtained from starch or cellulose by Clostridium acetone butanol fermentation. It is an important source of fuels and chemicals. At present, one of the difficulties in using ABE fermentation broth is the low concentration and high energy consumption in the separation process. Using catalytic conversion technology to economically obtain valuable chemicals is the key to realize the rational utilization of such biomass resources. By forming 4-heptanone, 2-heptanone and 6-undecanone as industrial raw materials and further hydrogenation to alkanes, excellent fuels can be obtained.
Transformation and utilization of animal and vegetable oils
Saponification or hydrogenation of animal fat and vegetable oil is the main chemical means to obtain valuable chemicals from natural oil resources. Using fatty acids, fatty alcohols and glycerol obtained from oil industry as raw materials, deep processing is carried out to obtain fine chemical products with higher added value. Developing good catalysts and related processes is the key.
