BSA CO₂ recovery activator

       A new CO₂ recovery process is found by SCCT,with higher efficiency and lower energy cost.The core of the new process is a new composite called BSA has been developed to substitute the DEA based catalyst system for the common benfield operation solution.

       By adding BAS instead of DEA to the potassium carbonate solution without shut down,the following benefits will be achieved when the concentration of BAS attains to 0.3-1%:

       Absorption capacity of CO₂ raised by 15%+；

       Circulation of the working solution reduced by 10-20%，hence the cooling water reduced by 5~10% and the steam consumption reduced by 5~10%；

       CO₂ concentration in the output gas lowered to below 0.1%, usually around 0.06%；

       BSA itself is anti-foaming.

       To be an example for the benefits, for a 300000t/a ammonia plant, at least 35/t can be saved, meaning more than 10 million RMB for a year.

       The advantage of the technique can also be manifested by as higher as 10-20% increase of capacity without any facility revamp and more power and steam cost.
